SSR Direct Replacement Fan

Product Description This replacement for the main fan on the Chevy SSR is based on a Flex-a-Lite 180 Extreme. It drops directly into the existing brackets on the radiator and connects directly to the OEM Harness. No additional mounting hardware or wiring change is required. Fits all SSRs, all four model years. The fan is shipped complete and ready to install. It fits in exactly the same space as the 15816298 OEM fan. No mounting issues or considerations needed. It connects directly to the existing 3-pin fan wiring harness with Delphi connector parts. No additional wiring is required. It has exactly the same two speed functionality as the OEM unit. No computer reprogramming is required. I have reverse-engineered the GM low speed function of the fan and replicated it identically. It uses less power than the OEM fan, but provides greater airflow through the radiator. The fan shroud provides complete coverage from top to bottom of the core and within half an inch on each side of being perfect. Installation is simple and can be done in less than 15 minutes…. even for a novice.  It goes in from the top and does not require a lift or jackstands. Airflow through the SSR radiator was measured (using a small wind tunnel) at 2500 cfm when the fan is on high speed. Shipping is approximately $56 to any location in the Continental US.  Based on the reliability of more than 5,000 units in service over the last 20 years, Simple Engineering provides a 5 year / 50,000 mile warranty on this cooling fan. Please note the added option for a new (vehicle side) connector to the main fan. This is to replace a connector that has been damaged by pushing a test probe into the female part of the connector during troubleshooting. Inspect your three pin connector to be sure it has not been melted or compromised. The Replacement Mating Connector (vehicle harness side) can also be ordered separately. UK Orders

Orders using standard delivery options (Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class) will usually be dispatched within 24 – 48 hours of the order being placed (but we always do this as fast as possible). You will receive an email from us letting you know your order has been dispatched and another with tracking details included.

If you are not in when your parcel arrives you will be left a card, with instructions for collection at your local Royal Mail sorting office or how to re-arrange delivery.

Please be aware that at certain times of year there can be seasonal delays to the postal service, these are out of our control unfortunately.

Orders placed after 1pm on Friday will be dispatched on the following Monday.  Orders placed after 1pm on a Bank Holiday Friday will be dispatched and processed on the first working day after the Bank Holiday.

Next Day Delivery

Next Day Delivery Orders will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery and will require a Signature.

Next day delivery orders must be placed before 1pm. Any orders placed after 1pm will not be guaranteed to reach you by the next working day. Any next day delivery orders placed on a Friday will not be dispatched until Monday.
