OverviewIntermittent Collapse in the Dog Determining the cause of intermittent collapse in the dog can be quite challenging and can involve an extensive diagnostic testing regimen. Non-neurological causes of intermittent collapse in the dog include cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic or orthopaedic disease. Neurological causes range from epileptic seizures, narcolepsy/cataplexy, neuromuscular disorders, paroxysmal movement disorders, pain, metabolic causes of central and/or peripheral nervous system dysfunction, vestibular attack and myokymia. A thorough description of the episode of weakness or collapse, especially if supported by video footage, can provide important information about the speed of onset of neurological signs, potential loss of consciousness/awareness during the events and the type of activity the patient was performing at the time of the episode. Initially, a complete physical and neurological examination should be performed. In conjunction with the signalment and history, this is one of the most important steps in determining whether the weakness/collapse originates from a primary neurological condition (including neuromuscular or central nervous system diseases) or is caused by cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic or orthopaedic disorder.This is a PDF of an article published in VetCPD Journal. UK Orders

Orders using standard delivery options (Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class) will usually be dispatched within 24 – 48 hours of the order being placed (but we always do this as fast as possible). You will receive an email from us letting you know your order has been dispatched and another with tracking details included.

If you are not in when your parcel arrives you will be left a card, with instructions for collection at your local Royal Mail sorting office or how to re-arrange delivery.

Please be aware that at certain times of year there can be seasonal delays to the postal service, these are out of our control unfortunately.

Orders placed after 1pm on Friday will be dispatched on the following Monday.  Orders placed after 1pm on a Bank Holiday Friday will be dispatched and processed on the first working day after the Bank Holiday.

Next Day Delivery

Next Day Delivery Orders will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery and will require a Signature.

Next day delivery orders must be placed before 1pm. Any orders placed after 1pm will not be guaranteed to reach you by the next working day. Any next day delivery orders placed on a Friday will not be dispatched until Monday.
